About nuvy

nuvy works out what a Korean skincare order actually costs once it arrives — the shop's price, its shipping, and what your country's border adds on top — across 215 products from 71 brands at 3 shops.

What it does

Korean skincare is cheap on the shelf and not always cheap at the door. Two thresholds decide the difference and neither shop tells you where the other one is: the order size that earns free shipping, and the order size at which the border starts charging. nuvy holds both for United States, Singapore, Philippines and Canada, and prices a whole routine at every shop that can supply it rather than one product at a time — because the shop that wins a single bottle regularly loses the whole order once shipping is in.

199 of the 215 products it prices are carried by more than one shop, which is the only population a comparison can honestly speak for.

Where every number comes from

nuvy publishes three kinds of figure, and each has a different source and a different clock. The tables below show the source and recorded update dates stored in nuvy's data.

Prices

Stylevana and YesStyle use feed imports; BuyBeautyKorea uses a manually supplied feed CSV. The dates below are the latest recorded imports, not a promise of daily updates. Pages comparing multiple shops may show the oldest included feed date.

Shipping

Published shipping rates from Stylevana and BuyBeautyKorea are used where available. Unconfirmed figures, including YesStyle estimates, are labelled separately. Confirm shipping at checkout.

Import duty and tax

Read by a person, from the customs authority's own document, on the day recorded below — and each country's page links the document it was read from so you can check it yourself. Review dates vary by country, and rules may change after the recorded review.

What nuvy will not do

Invent a number. Every figure is a shop's own, a customs authority's own, or arithmetic over the two. Where a figure is nuvy's estimate because nobody publishes it, the page says so beside the figure rather than in a footnote.

Manufacture social proof. There are no ratings, no review counts and no "best seller" badges anywhere on this site, because nuvy holds none. A page that invents them for a search engine is telling the same lie to a shopper, with a wider audience.

Let the commission decide the ranking. nuvy earns a commission on shop links and says so beside every one of them, never deferred to a footer. The home page also carries one advertising slot, labelled Sponsored where it sits rather than in a policy page. The ranking is price alone — and the shop that pays best is not the one that comes first. A shop that advertises here can still come last in the comparison, and does.

How to check any of it

The point of the dates above is that you can go and look. Every import-duty page names the instrument it was read from and links it. Every price carries the day its feed was read. Where nuvy cannot size a charge — the Philippines above its exemption, Canada at all — it says it will not quote a number instead of guessing at one.

What nuvy does not know, it marks. That is the whole of the method.

Who runs nuvy

nuvy is run by Ahn, and the customs rules on it are read by hand rather than repeated from a summary. The 4 rules above were each read from the authority's own document — the Federal Register notice that sets the US rate, the Canada Border Services Agency's own page on importing by mail, Singapore Customs on GST above S$400 — and the date beside each one is the day that reading happened, not the day this page was built.

That distinction is the whole reason to trust a number here rather than the next site's. And where nuvy cannot size a charge it says so instead of guessing: above the ₱10,000 Philippine exemption the page says the border will send a bill and it is not one nuvy can size; into Canada, where the rate depends on a province nuvy cannot see, it says it will not name a total. Where a shipping figure is nuvy's own estimate rather than a shop's published one, it is marked as such beside the figure rather than in a footnote. A site that only tells you when it is right is not telling you much.

Corrections are the most useful thing you can send. If a price, a shipping figure or a customs rule here is wrong — especially if you have just paid something different at a border — say so and it gets checked against the source.

Questions people ask

How does nuvy make money?

nuvy earns an affiliate commission when you buy through one of its shop links, paid by the shop out of its own margin at no cost to you. The home page also carries one advertising slot, labelled Sponsored, sold through the same affiliate network. Neither changes which shop wins: every ranking on this site is price alone, and the shop that pays the most is not the shop that comes first.

Where do the prices come from?

Stylevana and YesStyle prices are imported from their product feeds. BuyBeautyKorea prices come from a manually supplied product-feed CSV. Update dates vary by shop and are listed below; prices may change between updates.

Who checks the import duty rules?

A person, against the customs authority's own document, and the page records which document and on what day. Review dates vary by country. Rules can change after a review, so check the recorded date and linked customs source before ordering.

Who runs nuvy?

Ahn. The customs rules on this site are read by hand from each authority's own document rather than repeated from a summary, and the date on every rule is the day that reading happened.

How do I contact nuvy?

By email, at hello@nuvy.beauty. Corrections are the most useful thing to send — if a price, a shipping figure or a customs rule here is wrong, it gets checked against the source.

Does nuvy sell anything?

No. nuvy holds no stock, takes no payment and ships nothing. It compares what three shops charge and sends you to whichever one wins.

Why are there no reviews or star ratings on nuvy?

Because nuvy has none to show. It holds no ratings and no review counts, and inventing them to look established would be the same lie as inventing a price. Everything on this site is either a figure from a shop's feed, a rule from a customs authority, or arithmetic over the two.
